Tican Chica...Tamarindo, Costa Rica

The flash of bright orange worn by this Costa Rican girl, standing on this beautiful beach, naturally caught my eye as I walked past. I produced this oil painting soon afterwards, whilst this vibrant image was still in my mind, from the quick sketches I did at the time. The contrast against the cooler blue and green tones of the Pacific Ocean, gives this painting a real zing.
