The Benedictine priory of Andechs is close to Ammersee, Starnberg (Upper Bavaria) in Germany. Home to the Klosterbrauerei Andechs, this monastery on the hilltop inspired this oil painting of this Bavarian landscape. The lakes of Ammersee and Stranbergersee are nearby and have  provided subjects for many of my landscape paintings, in Germany..
